Brief Guide to Bathtub Reglazing

Reglazing is the process of making porcelain and ceramic surfaces and fixtures look like they are brand new again. With reglazing, you can bring your old bathtubs and tiles back to their original shine right where they are, in just a few hours, for a fraction of the cost of replacing them!!!

Your bathtub probably doesn’t look like it did when you first got it. This is probably because you’ve used harsh, abrasive cleaners on it over the years. Also, the surface has become so porous that it is almost impossible, if not very hard, to keep it clean. The roughened surface soaks up dirt and soap scum just like a sponge soaks up water.

Someone might have dropped something heavy on your tub and chipped or damaged the surface. Maybe drain cleaners or other chemicals were used too much and did a lot of damage to the tub. Who knows what could have made the tub very dirty? Maybe your tile is getting old and is cracking, changing color, or just doesn’t shine like it used to. Maybe the grout between your tiles looks old and is hard to keep clean, or maybe you just don’t like the color of your tub or tiles.

All of these things can be fixed by reglazing. Our technicians can fix any places that are broken or chipped. Then, they will use our industrial cleaning process to get the surface ready for re-painting. Next, we’ll cover and protect all nearby items with masks and set up ventilation equipment to keep spray and smells under control. Then we put on and dry our special glue coating. While we are reglazing the tub, we also put our “No Slip” bottom on it to prevent accidents where people slip and fall. The last step is to add our special synthetic porcelain finish and chemically bond it to the surface. The shiny new surface is easy to clean. There are no harmful chemical messes or leftovers in your home. The grout lines are sealed, and mildew is almost impossible to grow.

Why get rid of that old tub or tile just because its color is out of style or its surface is worn? We can make them look like new again at a fraction of the cost of replacing them, IN ANY COLOR!!

Reglazing VS. Replacement

In traditional ways of replacing, the hardest part is getting rid of the old bathtub. Parts of the bathroom tile, walls, and floor must be torn away during the process. Most of the time, the old plumbing is in the wrong place for the new bathtub, which takes more time and costs more money. When you add up the cost of a new bathtub, floor and wall materials, ceramic tiles, lumber, a carpenter, a plumber, and a tile setter, it’s easy to see how replacing a bathtub can cost thousands of dollars, not to mention the dirt, noise, and hassle of having workmen in your home for days or even weeks. Lastly, not being able to use your own bathroom for a long time can be annoying.

Fixtures and tiles that have lost their shine can be brought back to life in less than a day by reglazing. You don’t have to deal with replacement, which saves you time and trouble. You can save up to 80% of the cost of replacement if you just re-glaze your windows. (By the way, most new bathtubs aren’t as good as the ones they’re replacing.) Even the color of your fixtures and tile can be changed. You can have the bathroom of your dreams without having to replace it, which is a nightmare.
